Second Grade
The second graders will be studying the artwork of Gustav Klimt, in particular his painting "Baby". They will be creating their own version of it by creating patterns for the blanket then using a mixed media of crayons, markers and watercolors to add color to the blanket. They will use pastels for the background and draw and cut out the baby's head and glue on. |
Third Grade
The third graders will be learning about the origin and history of stained glass, what it's purposes were and how it is made. They will make their own simulated stained glass using oil pastels, Q-tips and baby oil. The students will learn about analogous color harmonies and select three colors that are side by side on the color wheel to use in their stained glass piece. They will use oil pastels to color their pieces and blend them with Q-tips and baby oil. |
